Instant backing band for your live performances

It’s no secret that local venues have cut back their live performance budgets. What can you do as a performer to take advantage of these dwindling opportunities? How about hiring a live backing band that doesn’t require band rehearsal or wondering if they’ll show up for the gig.

Custom Audio Backing Tracks to the rescue!

Custom Audio Backing Tracks (CABT) contain live performances by professional musicians. If you are a singer and guitarist (for example), you can browse our website to find available songs, create your own custom mix by muting the guitar and lead vocal part and download this custom mix as an .mp3 backing track. From there, you can transfer the .mp3 to your favorite portable music device, plug it into an available stereo channel on your mixer and voila! – instant backing band.

Let’s check out an example song from our website to see how it’s done.

Step 1
Find the song you’re looking for:

Step 2
Pull up the interactive mixer and listen to a preview of your song choice:

Step 3
Add your song to your shopping cart and check out following the prompts. Once you've successfully checked out, the new CABT song will appear in your library:

Step 4
Click on the "Mix Now" button as highlighted in the above picture. When you click on it, you will launch the CABT mixer. Once the mixer is open, you can create a custom mix of your song by muting specific tracks, soloing individual tracks to listen to each in isolation and adjust the overall volume of each instrument in the song. In our example, I will mute the lead vocal and acoustic guitar track:

Step 5
Once I'm satisfied with my mix, I can download this custom mix as an .mp3 file:

From there, you can load the .mp3 file into your favorite portable music player and play along.

Custom Audio Backing Tracks are also great for practicing. Most will agree that playing along with live performers is a lot more inspiring than playing along with a metronome!
