These recordings are great, but cheesy. I don't get it. Why can't you just take original albums and make them playablt on the disklavier? I want to hear the original songs by the original artists. Not all the cheesy digital reproductions. If I wanted that, I wldn't have spent thousands on a disklavier, Id'a simply spent a few hundred on a keyboard or synthesizer.
Anonymous,
Thanks for the feedback - these songs actually were designed to be played back on keyboards, not on Disklaviers, which is probably why you're not getting the type of sound you want. For Disklavier music, please take a look at PianoSoft.

Hello Doug, My name's Derek By the way, and thanks for the response back. So, Are you saying that I need to find and buy Pianosoft recordings? Those will be all original song albums by the original artists? Cause that's what I really want, and am looking for.
Derek,
What I was getting at is that PianoSoft recordings are real piano recordings, which will play back on a Disklavier exactly as they were originally performed by Yamaha's acclaimed PianoSoft artists, while MIDI song files are programmed by musicians, usually using sequencing software, to closely approximate the original recording of a song.
So, neither PianoSoft or MIDI songs are the actual original recordings of songs that you may be familiar with. I'd urge you to listen to some samples of our PianoSoft recordings to get a sense of what these will sound like.

Hey Doug, Thanks much for the info and clarification. I appreciate it.
One of the main resons for our Disklavier purchase was to listen to our piano play our favorite songs like Elton John and Billy Joel and Neil Diamond etc. After a lot of reading and investigating, I think the Pianosoft diskettes are the way to go. Played in accompanyment with the original song plaing through the CD player. Seems like buy doing that, we'll have just what we are looking for.
Thanks again for telling me about them. = )
Safe, healthy, and happy holidays to you and all.
