Yamaha keyboards can do a lot on their own, but they can do even more when you link them up to a computer. You can record new songs, play along with songs you've downloaded and more - the possibilities are vast.
Still, the idea of combining two complex pieces of technology can be daunting. Luckily, if you get a headache just thinking of terms like "MIDI Driver" and "USB to Host", we have a remedy. With the video below, connection is a snap. Just watch and follow along with the step by step instructions.
Because the process involves installing a driver which is different depending on your computer's operating system, we've created three separate videos for Windows XP, Vista and Mac users. Below is the video for Windows XP - you can click here for the Mac version or here for the Vista version.

The video wasn't helpful, as I am using neither Windows nor Mac OS-X. I'd like to see a Linux version.
Not helpful at all. I have both Wi-Fi and Wireless and still cannot connect. I have sent four emails to Yamaha that have been ignored to date.
Hello,
To alpreston:
Our apologies. These are our first attempts at creating videos and so we try to cover the most general and basic steps and equipment.
We will take into consideration your suggestion with a Linux version of connecting your instrument and utilizing it with your computer. Would you have any suggestions on what you would like to see? Please let us know.
To Devere:
These videos are, as I mentioned, generic and not all topics can be covered in them.
You may be seeking information on how to connect your instrument to the internet as opposed to connecting your instrument to your computer and just transferring midi files.
If this is so, you may be best assisted by your local Yamaha instrument support staff. Please let us know where you might be located so that we can forward you the appropriate department.
Thanks for watching and check back for more videos. We hope to create more to delve into as many aspects of our instruments as possible!
